Learn How A Combination of Klevu’s Analytics and Google Analytics Can Take Your E-commerce Brand To a Whole New Level

by Klevu on

Have you ever wondered exactly what your customers are searching for on your site?  With data collected from both tools, the opportunities are endless…

Whether you are an enterprise level merchant or a fast growing brand, you’ll have hundreds of loyal customers. And these customers are a gold mine.

It is far easier to up-sell products to your current customers than to engage and acquire new ones. If you understand your current customers on a deep and personal level, you can use this information to save your business a lot of time and money.

You can utilize software such as Google Analytics to dig deep into who your customers are, what they are doing on your website and where they are in the world. This sort of data is invaluable and can help you to further drive sales. Couple this with Klevu’s smart search technology and it’s very own search analytics and you’re winning.

Klevu’s powerful smart search technology is powered by a number of different software components and they all play a part to make this possible for merchants. This includes Klevu’s Analytics Component which  gives merchants another avenue to discover and analyze important customer metrics.

What will this article look at?

This article  looks at some of the features that make the Klevu Analytics Component an important and powerful part of Klevu’s ecosystem for merchants. We will highlight the benefits of this component and look at how the analytical component can transform an online store.

Klevu offers both a user interface – the Klevu Merchant Center (KMC) and programmatic endpoints (APIs) in order to provide merchants with various methods for accessing critical business data.

Let’s dive into some of the analytical features Klevu offers and how you can leverage reporting to inform your business decisions:

The Klevu Merchant Center (KMC)

Firstly, Klevu is a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform which means we can offer a flexible user interface (The KMC). The flexibility of the tool allows merchants to easily access everything they need in order to manage it’s multitude of settings. This gives merchants complete control and flexibility over how their search traffic is handled.

The various analytical reports within the KMC provide merchants with invaluable feedback on how their site search is being used.

It provides all of the following reports within the interface:

  • Total search queries
  • Total product clicks
  • Top locations / most frequent location of searches
  • Most frequently used keywords
  • Most frequently clicked products
  • Keywords with zero results

Overall, Klevu Analytics provides the merchant with invaluable insights into how customers are interacting with on-site search.

Analytics API

Alongside the reporting interface provided by the KMC, Klevu offers a flexible and open Application Programming Interface (API). Klevu’s API  allows developers to query the back-end and they can push or pull various analytical data pertaining to a store.

This includes the following endpoints:

Category navigation reporting

  • Category page views
  • Product clicks
  • Checked out products

Reporting search activities

  • Searched terms
  • Clicked records
  • Checked out products

Klevu’s Analytics API provides total flexibility when integrating Klevu into a store. The API acts as a mechanism to fetch data without going through Klevu’s  native user interface.

You can find out more about Klevu’s Analytics API here.

Native Google Analytics integration

Klevu integrates seamlessly with the Google Analytics. The combination of Klevu’s analytical data and data from Google Analytics allows merchants to dig even deeper into how customers are interacting with on-site search.

No changes are needed in a store’s admin panel, merchants simply need to configure Google Analytics to register Klevu’s search component.

Here’s how:

GeoIP

The ability to track where user queries are coming from is part of the reporting delivered by the KMC.

Klevu’s GeoIP is extremely intelligent, it gives merchants the ability to track the geographical location of peaks in search volumes. This is particularly useful if,  for example, a merchant is running a targeted campaign and would like to report further on which searches are happening and where.

Internal reporting for Klevu

Klevu boasts a powerful and robust  internal reporting system that is designed to ensure the ecosystem stays running in an efficient and performant way for merchants.

It allows Klevu to deliver the following benefits to enterprise merchants:

Proactive monitoring & support

Service resilience and stability is of utmost importance to Klevu, we aim to ensure that no customer or merchant is ever left waiting for Klevu’s servers to respond with the appropriate data.

As part of this process, Klevu built a mechanism within the technology to spot potential faults before they impact end-users. This is known as “Proactive Monitoring”.

If a merchant is experiencing an issue (for example too many API requests made in error), Klevu proactively flags the issue and resolves it quickly, prior to any damage.

Super fast response times

Monitoring Klevu’s system closely with the analytics component means that Klevu’s internal team has a constant view on response times to customer queries (both web-based and API). This enables the continued delivery of lightning fast responses to search requests.

It also addresses any problems that could potentially affect performance, well ahead of any visible impact to merchants and end users.

We can therefore confidently roll out powerful new features on a regular basis without unexpected performance or stability issues. This has been part of Klevu’s ongoing commitment to delivering features that our merchants require in order to run successful on-site search and personalization solution.

Summary

In summary, the Klevu Analytics component is powerful for merchants to provide critical and valuable insights on the performance of Search, Navigation and Personalization features.

We are continuing to develop this tool and the KMC in order to provide even more to our customers with regards to analytics. To find out more, submit a demo request here.
